Huntington, Massachusetts
The fifty-fifth running of the Westfield River Whitewater Races will be held on April 19 & 20 of this year. As in past years, there will be a novice race on Saturday, beginning on the West Branch of the river, just downstream of the Rt. 112 bridge in the center of Huntington. For more experienced paddlers and past winners of the novice race, the thirteen mile expert race will be held on Sunday, beginning just below Knightville Dam, about four miles north of the center of Huntington, a short distance off Rt. 112 on Knightville Road.
The Westfield River Whitewater Races, held every year since 1953, are the oldest continuously run canoe races in the US. Be sure to check out the history of the race and the gallery of photos from previous years.
On this site, you'll find the schedule of clinics, a map and description of the course and approximate schedule of events for the race weekend.
